RENTON, Wash. -- If the Seattle Seahawks make it back to the Super Bowl next season, no one can say they had an easy path to get there.

Seattle has the sixth-toughest schedule in the NFL for 2014, along with the third-toughest road schedule. The overall winning percentage of the Seahawks’ opponents is .561, and it rises to .578 for the eight road games.

Just playing the NFL West is tough enough. San Francisco, Arizona and St. Louis had a combined .608 winning percentage, including the 49ers' three playoff games.

The early betting line out of Las Vegas lists San Francisco0 has No. 2 to Seattle as the team most likely to win the Super Bowl next season. In other words, whichever of those teams ends up on top is the favorite to win the Super Bowl.

The Seahawks' road schedule is brutal. It includes five 2013 playoff teams -- Philadelphia, Carolina, Kansas City, San Diego and San Francisco -- along with Arizona, which ended the season 10-6.

The home schedule is a little easier, but it includes a Super Bowl rematch with Denver, along with two other 2013 playoff teams: Green Bay and San Francisco.

Only five of Seattle’s 2014 opponents had a losing record in 2013, and that includes three games against teams that were 7-9 -- two with the St. Louis Rams and one with the New York Giants.

So the Seahawks have their work cut out for them in the 2014 season.
