2010 Owens vs. Seahawks' current roster
Aug 7, 2012 10:30 AM
New Seattle Seahawks receiver Terrell Owens caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns for Cincinnati in 2010, his most recent NFL season.

Those numbers exceed what any current Seattle player has produced for the Seahawks over the 2010 and 2011 seasons combined.

Pro Football Reference has the totals. I've listed the ones for current Seattle players in the chart below.

Owens' 40-yard time during a workout Monday was faster than 4.5 seconds. That suggests, at least on the surface, that he's capable of producing at a fairly high level. Other dynamics also come into play, including how well the quarterbacks are playing.

Carson Palmer was Owens' quarterback in 2010. Palmer, now with Oakland, played for Seahawks coach Pete Carroll at USC and reportedly vouched for Owens.

Seattle has moved up its practice times for the week. I'll be heading to Seahawks headquarters for a 10:45 a.m. PT session Tuesday. I was planning on attending Seahawks practices this week anyway. Owens' addition to the roster has changed the focus.
