Marshawn Lynch's career stats vs. the Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch has rushed for more than 100 yards in each of the last two games, but he’s only rushed for 100 yards once against the Arizona Cardinals in his NFL career.

That came on Dec. 12, 2012 when he rushed for 128 yards on only 11 carries in a 58-0 Seahawks victory at CenturyLink Field. Lynch also had three touchdowns that day.

Rushing for 100 yards only once vs. Arizona is a little misleading. Lynch has rushed for more than 70 yards in seven of nine games against the Cardinals, including each of the last six games he has faced them. He has a 4.4-yard rushing average per carry in his career against the Cards.

What he does running up the middle against Arizona on Sunday could be a key to the outcome of the game. Lynch has rushed for 351 yards with six TDs on attempts between the tackles in 2014. Both are the most of any player in the league.

Lynch was held to 19 yards on seven carries up the middle against the Cardinals in the 17-10 loss at Seattle last December.

The Seahawks are the No. 1 rushing team in the NFL, averaging 174.1 yards per game, which includes 554 yards rushing the last two games. The Cardinals are No. 3 in the league in rushing defense, allowing only 80.5 yards a game.

So something has to give on Sunday.
