An interesting battle took place Tuesday on Twitter. New York Giants cornerback Walter Thurmond claimed that he is the best slot cornerback in the NFL, according to a report on Pro Football Talk. Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin took exception and asked on Twitter, “But who is Walter Thurmond??” Thurmond then chimed in saying he “thinks it’s funny” Boykin would have an issue with this because the Eagles cornerback “starts on the outside.” Boykin tweeted that he doesn’t start on the outside. When the NFL schedule is released Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET, those two Giants-Eagles games will have some extra meaning. Expect Thurmond and Boykin to anxiously anticipate those two meetings.
