Aaron Judge and Jorge Mateo invited to big-league camp

The Yankees announced that top prospects Aaron Judge, Jorge Mateo and James Kaprielian are all invited to big-league camp when it begins later this month.

Judge could be in the majors at some point in 2016 and may be the starting right fielder to begin 2017. Mateo, 20, is the Yankees' top shortstop prospect, while Kaprielian was the Yankees' first round pick.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman mentioned, in a phone conversation, that Mateo could possibly be a speed factor late in the season on the major-league level, but he said any decision is a long ways away. Kaprielian could be a starter if the Yankees have injuries in their rotation.

Infielder Tyler Wade, outfielder Dustin Fowler and lefty Tyler Webb were among the other invitees.
