          Rapid Reaction: Yankees 5, White Sox 3

          NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees have won three in a row after defeating the Chicago White Sox 5-3 in a raggedy game.

          Joe Torre Day: Before the game, the Yankees retired former manager Joe Torre's No. 6.

          Where they stand: The latest wild card standings.

          The devil wears Prado: After his game-winning single Friday, Martin Prado went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored.

          Solid start: Hiroki Kuroda went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits.

          Clean-up man: Shawn Kelley gave up a run in the seventh, so with two outs and two men on, Yankees manager Joe Girardi turned to his security blanket, Dellin Betances, to force Adam Dunn to fly out to right, preserving a 5-3 lead.

          D-Rob: David Robertson picked up his 33rd save of the season.

          Warren Commissioned: Adam Warren worked a hitless eighth.

          Running the bases: The Yankees put up two runs in the fourth, but it could have been more. To start the inning, Brian McCann doubled when the ball was lost in the sun by left fielder Alejandro De Aza and Mark Teixeira walked. Next, Carlos Beltran ripped a single to right. McCann was held up by third base coach Rob Thomson.

          Teixeira, seemingly not paying attention, still ran to third. When he realized his mistake, Teixeira stopped to get in a rundown that allowed Beltran to move to second.

          Next, Prado doubled to score two runs. When Chase Headley hit a comebacker to ineffective White Sox starter Scott Carroll, Prado got nailed at third, essentially ruining any more chances for scoring.

          The Yankees were up 3-1 after four.

          Belts one: Beltran, fresh off his three-game break after his third cortisone shot in his right elbow, went deep in the sixth.

          Gift: Down a run in the second, the Yankees scored on a walk, a White Sox error, a Prado bunt single and a Headley double play. The run scored on the double play.

          Attendance: The Yankees announced a sellout crowd of 47,594.

          On deck:The Yankees will go for the sweep as Chris Capuano (1-3, 4.35 ERA) faces Chris Sale (10-3, 2.12). After, the Yankees go on a seven-game road trip, with one in Kansas City and then three each in Detroit and Toronto.
