Pettitte looked fine throwing
Aug 4, 2012 12:11 PM
Couple of brief injury notes:

1.) Andy Pettitte looked fine throwing in the indoor batting cage. Pettitte -- who recently had a slight setback in his recovery from the fracture in his left fibula -- played catch from about 60 feet, 6 inches. Pettitte (fractured fibula) is not expected to return until next month. He did not speak to the media.

2) Alex Rodriguez played catch in the outfield, like a quarterback. Rodriguez (broken left hand) had a personal catcher who caught each ball for him. Joe Girardi said Rodriguez is keeping up on his conditioning by swinging with one arm and throwing. Girardi said A-Rod should be in proper shape when his hand heals so he should be able to get on the field pretty quickly afterward.
