Jeter passes Cal Ripken on hits list
Jun 29, 2012 7:53 PM
With his leadoff double against the Chicago White Sox, Derek Jeter has moved past Cal Ripken Jr. into 13th placed on the all-time hits list.

Jeter now has 3,185 hits in his career. Next up for Jeter is Nap Lajoie, who finished with 3,252 hits. The first-inning double was Jeter’s 97th hit of the season.

For Jeter, passing Ripken, is extra special because, although Jeter grew up a Yankees fan, he always admired Ripken.
