Mark Teixeira out with sore wrist again

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Mark Teixeira's surgically repaired wrist is bothering him again. He told manager Joe Girardi the wrist is sore and Girardi said for Teixeira to sit as long as he needs.

"I told him to come see me when you are ready to go again," Girardi said.

Teixeira, who played in just 15 games last season because of the wrist, has appeared in 115 games, hitting .218 with 21 homers and 58 RBIs. His OPS is .725 in his last 19 games, Teixeira is hitting .145 with an OPS an .490.

The first baseman has three years remaining on his contract for $67.5 million dollars.

Frankie's Back: Francisco Cervelli, who hasn't played in the last 14 games because of migraines, is in the starting catcher on Tuesday.
