SEATTLE -- Catching prospect Kevin Plawecki, who has been out of the starting lineup at Triple-A Las Vegas since Thursday, has been diagnosed with a mild case of vertigo, assistant GM John Ricco said.

Plawecki, 23, is hitting .234 with two homers and 11 RBIs in 15 games since a promotion from Double-A Binghamton. He hit .326 with six homers and 43 RBIs in 224 at-bats to begin the season with the B-Mets.

Plawecki has experienced dizziness. Ricco suggested the issue typically resolves itself and there was no incident that precipitated it.

"They just told him to rest," Ricco said. "It wasn't anything severe. He's going to get a few days off."
