Pau: 'Possible' Marc Gasol lands in N.Y.

Pau Gasol turned down the Knicks in free agency this summer. But he told reporters on Wednesday that it's "possible" his brother could end up in the Big Apple.

Gasol M. Gasol Marc Gasol, Pau's younger brother, is expected to test free agency this summer. The Knicks are on track to have enough cap space to offer the Grizzlies center a maximum contract.

Pau Gasol told reporters before the Knicks-Bulls game that he's talked to his brother about Knicks president Phil Jackson, for whom Pau played with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"It's a personal decision," Pau Gasol said. "I talked to my brother enough about Phil that he knows what he brings to the table. I don't know how much he's involved with the team, really. He's in an upstairs position, management position. He's not on the court every day, so it's something that [Marc] will consider when he gets to that point."

Marc Gasol will have plenty of suitors this summer. One of the top defenders in the league, Gasol is also a strong passer who can operate out of the high post and potentially fit the Knicks' triangle offense.

"We'll see what happens next year, what he decides," Pau Gasol said. "Hopefully he'll have a strong year and all the options in the world. Because he's one of the top centers, interior players, in the league. So any team would be fortunate to have him."

Question: Do you think the Knicks should pursue Marc Gasol strongly this summer? If not, which 2015 free agents besides Gasol should they target?
