FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- After one game with the New York Jets, wide receiver Percy Harvin has already played more with Michael Vick than with Geno Smith. So when Vick was named the starter on Monday, it only means he'll be able to practice more with the veteran as well.

"I guess we know who our quarterback is going to be so we can get into a rhythm with him," Harvin said. "I know last week Mike didn't get any of the first team reps with us so his timing was off a little bit this week we know who the starter is."

On Wednesday, Harvin said he hadn't learned of the switch until earlier in the day during a meeting. Nonetheless, he addressed the switch with a casual sort of familiarity.

"I've actually been through it before," Harvin said. "In Minnesota we went through three or four of them. An as individual you just have to worry about your job, and my job is to be able to line up, know my audibles and be ready to catch the ball. It really doesn't matter who the quarterback is to me. "

Harvin comes from the Seattle Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson, but Harvin was able to show more versatility in his one game with the Jets than he has in a while. Against the Buffalo Bills, Harvin had 28 rushing yards on four carries in addition to 22 yards on three receptions. He also returned six kickoffs for 144 yards.

"I thought Percy played really well," Jets coach Rex Ryan said. "That's not an easy task. We were going to play him more than we let on. It was a huge challenge for a guy coming into a new team, but I thought he did a great job. This guy is a big-time playmaker."

So how does Harvin assess his first game?

"We had a little timing problem last week but overall I think I did pretty good," Harvin said. "Actually, I graded out with no MAs, which means I didn't miss any of my assignments, so I was on my assignments."
