EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Sixteen different New York Giants have caught passes during the team's first two preseason games.

Victor Cruz is not one of them.

Cruz has led the Giants in receptions the past three seasons, and first made his name with three touchdown catches in a preseason game against the New York Jets in 2010. But he's yet to get his hands on a ball in 2014 going into the Giants' third preseason game, on Saturday night in Indianapolis.

"That’d be fun, if I could catch one," Cruz said Thursday, smiling. "But I’m just all about getting my technique right, making sure I’m doing all the right things, making sure that my routes are crisp. And if Eli [Manning] looks my way to give me one, then so be it."

To be fair, Cruz has only played 33 snaps in the first two games. Manning has thrown just nine passes, and completed just six -- all against the Buffalo Bills in the Hall of Fame Game. Last Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Manning was 0-for-2 in four series under center.

The first string has looked shaky, other than one long drive against the Bills' second-team defense and a 73-yard touchdown run by Rashad Jennings against the Steelers. But Cruz does not sound worried about the new offense, under new coordinator Ben McAdoo.

"I think we’re right on point," Cruz said. "I think everything’s installed, the entire offense is in, we know everything. ... Everybody’s sharp, everybody understands the plays, now it’s just a matter of fine-tuning everything."

Corey Washington and Marcus Harris lead the Giants with four receptions apiece, and Travis Harvey has three.

And if you're worried about Cruz's lack of production at this point, you're nuts.
