Jamie Collins rates highly in '13 re-draft

Here's something that caught the eye in recent days:

As part of coverage leading into the NFL draft, analysts often look back at past drafts and shuffle the deck to recap how things might unfold today given the benefit of multiple NFL seasons to assess. In this case, it's a nod in the direction of the Patriots' selection of linebacker Jamie Collins in the second round of the 2013 draft (52nd overall).

ESPN's "NFL Live" program slotted Collins as the No. 5 pick in a re-draft. His 47th pick jump is the second highest among those in this re-draft.

1. DL Sheldon Richardson (12 spots)

2. RB Le'Veon Bell (46 spots)

3. DE Ezekiel Ansah (2 spots)

4. RB Eddie Lacy (57 spots)

5. Collins (47 spots)

6. LB Kiko Alonso (40 spots)

7. OT Lane Johnson (drops 3 spots)

8. C Travis Frederick (23 spots)

9. S Kenny Vaccaro (6 spots)

10. WR DeAndre Hopkins (17 spots)

While a case could be made for a few others to be included -- such as Carolina defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and Bears guard Kyle Long, among others -- Collins certainly belongs in the top-10 discussion.
