Gronk's grab best Brady has ever seen

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has completed passes to a lot of different receivers, but tight end Rob Gronkowski's one-handed grab in the fourth quarter was unlike any Brady had seen before.

"It was the best catch I've ever seen," Brady said. "It doesn't get any better than that. I wish they would have given him the touchdown, but we came back to him on the next play and he got it."

The Patriots challenged to see if Gronkowski made it into the end zone on the incredible catch, but he was ruled down at the 1-yard line. Gronkowski scored on the next play on a slant route.

"I saw it on the replay. It was a pretty good catch," Gronkowski said of his one-handed snag. "Tom put it where I could make that play. It just happened. It was a reaction just going for the ball and when you see the ball you want to go for it. It's just a natural reaction to go get it. And it ended up being one-handed, which was pretty cool."

In light of Brady's high praise, Gronkowski was asked to put a rating on the catch.

"It was a good catch," Gronkowski said. "You guys can do the rating of it. Just trying to make plays and as many as possible when my number is called."

Gronkowski finished with nine receptions for 105 yards, including the 1-yard touchdown. Brady was 9-of-10 when targeting Gronkowski, and Brady has completed 75 percent of passes to Gronkowski during New England's five-game win streak. (He hit 46.2 percent in Weeks 1-4.)

For multiple weeks, Gronkowski has looked unstoppable in the passing game and increasingly difficult to take down after the catch.

"I've played with a lot of guys, but just playing with Gronk, I mean, look at him," wide receiver Julian Edelman said. "He's just fun to play with. He's like a little kid and he makes the game exciting and he goes out and he makes one-handed catches and goes out there and looks like he is playing against his little brother sometimes. He's just a beast."

When Gronkowski is at his best, the other receivers benefit as well. Edelman had nine catches of his own for 89 yards and a touchdown.

"It helps a lot," Edelman said. "You look at him and he is one of our best players. And when he does what he is supposed to do and he does that kind of stuff, it's just Gronk being Gronk."

Coming into the game against the Denver Broncos, a lot of eyes were on Peyton Manning and his offensive weapons of wide receivers Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Wes Welker and tight end Julius Thomas. Gronkowski was proud of the Patriots' offensive performance, noting that everyone is clicking.

"We showcase a lot with all the receivers we have," Gronkowski said. "Spreading the ball around, keeping everybody lethal and keeping everyone as a weapon and sticking together as an offense and everyone playing together."

The Patriots' offense will try to keep it rolling, but right now Gronkowski is going to enjoy the win and the upcoming bye week.

"It feels good to get the win going into a bye. Always good to have a bye," Gronkowski said. "When you are out there grinding every play and everything, you have bumps and bruises everywhere. So it will feel good to relax, get some of that swelling out from everywhere on the body and get ready for the following week after that."
