FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Rookie linebacker Deontae Skinner, who was waived Wednesday to make room on the 53-man roster for free-agent defensive tackle Alan Branch, was signed to the team's practice squad on Friday.

To make room for Skinner, who had appeared in seven regular-season games (one start) after making the club as an undrafted free-agent out of Mississippi State, the Patriots released wide receiver Jonathan Krause.
