Rahshaun Smith, the No. 26-ranked prospect in the Class of 2016, has changed his official visit schedule.

After initially scheduling official visits to LSU Oct. 17 and Auburn Nov. 14 with plans to also visit Clemson and Miami, the former Clemson verbal has cancelled a previously scheduled visit.

“I’ve got three official visit set up,” said Smith. “So I got Clemson, Maryland and Auburn set up. I have Auburn Nov. 14 for the Georgia game, Clemson Dec. 11 and Maryland Dec. 4,”

While there is a trio of visits set up and a clear top three schools battling it out for the 2016 Under Armour All-America Game outside linebacker, it’s the last two possible visits that will carry the most intrigue.

“I’m just going to let the season play out, and see what comes up or what impresses me. It’s not a final three schools at this point. Off the top of my head, I’m still looking at Oklahoma, Oregon and Miami,”

The 6-foot-3, 239-pound Smith went into to detail with RecruitingNation as to why Auburn, Maryland and Clemson are the three schools that will receive official visits.

Auburn: “When you think about a great defensive coach to play for with the ultimate dream of playing in the [NFL], Coach [Will] Muschamp is a proven guy. Auburn has one of the best defensive staffs in the country. It’s like a tight-knit family at Auburn. When I first visited, I felt the vibe. It’s not a big city, but a nice college town and not far from a big city like Atlanta. The visit really opened my eyes.”

Maryland: “A visit to Maryland is a great chance to go back home. Obviously, I know Corey [Robinson] very well and am close with him. There is definitely a great opportunity there. It’s a big city, near Baltimore, and it would be the chance to play in my hometown area. Coach [Randy] Edsall and I have a great relationship. Coach [Mike] Locksley has probably been one of the top three coaches that has recruited throughout the process.”

Clemson: “At the end of the day, I didn’t decommit from Clemson because my thoughts had changed on them. I just wanted to go through the process. If I had to put the schools in order as of today, they would probably be my No. 1. Clemson makes you feel so at home. Even once I decommitted, I’ve talked to a lot of the players and they still show me love, tell me to go through the process and then come to Clemson if it’s where I want to be. I still talk to (defensive coordinator) [Brent] Venables almost every day. “

Smith, the No. 2-ranked outside linebacker in the class, plans to announce his decision at the Under Armour All-America Game. He will graduate from high school in December, and enroll at the school of his choice in January.
