ESPN 300 tight end Isaac Nauta decommits from Florida State

ESPN 300 tight end Isaac Nauta, the No. 28-ranked prospect overall in the Class of 2016, has reopened his recruitment. The nation's No. 2-ranked tight end announced his decision to decommit from Florida State on Twitter.

Nauta had been committed to the Seminoles since Dec. 15, 2014, but had always maintained he would go through the visits process, both unofficial and official.

The former Buford High (Ga.) star who is now at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, has made a number of unofficial visits this summer -- including Florida State, Georgia, TCU, Baylor, Texas and LSU in July -- and chatter picked up in mid-July that Nauta was not solid in his commitment to the Noles.

Last weekend, Nauta made unofficial visits to TCU, Baylor, Texas and LSU along with ESPN Junior 300 No. 1-ranked defensive end Robert Beal and ESPN Junior 300 No. 38 and new Ohio State verbal Isaiah Pryor, with the Horned Frogs' offensive scheme, Baylor's facilities and Charlie Strong’s first impression standing out.

Georgia has the advantage of being closest to home for Nauta, who has a number of friends committed or leaning to the Bulldogs from the Atlanta area.

Florida State was the No. 2-ranked class by RecruitingNation prior to Nauta’s decommitment. The Seminoles are considered a long shot to regain a commitment from Nauta.
