Dillon Sterling-Cole names a top-5

Dillon Sterling-Cole, the lone remaining uncommitted ESPN 300 quarterback, is starting to narrow down his choices. The 111th-ranked player in the ESPN 300 announced a top-5 of Arizona State, Florida, Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Houston. Cole claims the list is in order.

Sterling-Cole announced his choices on Twitter.

There was, however, some confusion when Sterling-Cole initially tweeted out a list of top schools. His original tweet listed the same five schools, but also added that the list was not in order. Cole went back and sent out a corrected tweet and verified that the list of schools was in order.

The 6-foot-3, 183-pound signal-caller has visited his top two schools Arizona State and Florida recently, so it’s no surprise those two schools are at the top of his list. Arizona State signed ESPN 300 quarterback Brady White and four-star dual threat quarterback Bryce Perkins in last year’s class. The Gators, meanwhile, did not sign a quarterback in their 2015 class and do not have a commitment to date for this year’s class.

The Houston native does not have a set date for his commitment, but he said at The Opening in early July that he would like to take all five official visits no matter when he decides to make a decision.

Sterling-Cole was one of two uncommitted ESPN 300 prospects up until last week when Jawon Pass verbally committed to Louisville over Alabama and Auburn.
