ESPN 300 QB Woody Barrett sets announcement date

There are 25 quarterbacks in the 2016 ESPN 300, and 20 have already committed. In two weeks that number will move to 21 when the No. 3-ranked dual-threat prospect, Woody Barrett, announces his decision.

On Wednesday, West Orange High School offensive coordinator Collin Drafts informed RecruitingNation that the Warriors' star signal-caller is scheduled to announcement June 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET at West Orange High School.

Where the No. 80-ranked prospect overall will commit is now the question on the mind of many a fan and college coach.

With just 14 days until Barrett announces, his top five schools are Auburn, Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame and Mississippi State with the Tigers considered the team to beat.

Barrett has considered offers from over 15 schools during the process including Kentucky, Louisville, Rutgers, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin and Michigan State.

The 6-foot-2, 219-pound quarterback has been on the campuses of Auburn and Florida since early March, and does not currently have anymore unofficial visits planned.

Barrett plays on a talented West Orange team that also includes ESPN 300 receiver Eddie McDoom, Florida offensive tackle commitment Stone Forsythe and defensive end Nolan DeFranco.
