#SceneAndHeard: Daylon Mack top two, Texas A&M out

On Friday shortly after noon, following the 8 a.m. commitment of ESPN 300 No. 35 Malik Jefferson to Texas over Texas A&M, No. 15 and five-star defensive tackle Daylon Mack sent another shock wave in the Lone Star state decommitting from Texas A&M in what would turn out to be a Friday to forget for Aggie fans.

Just minutes ago, Mack followed through on his Friday tweet, releasing his top two teams.

.

Mack is scheduled to visit LSU Jan. 16 and already made an official visit to TCU in October. Jan. 16 will be the Tigers second on-campus shot at Mack following a Nov. 8 unofficial visit for the Tigers game against Alabama.

A third school in the mix is Texas. Mack reports that he plans to officially visit the Longhorns Jan. 23, with a final decision expected on National Signing Day.

Also of note in regards to Mack’s announcement today is that he reports that Texas A&M is out of the running. The Aggies are expected to make another run at the athletic defensive tackle prospect after a new defensive coordinator is hired.

Mack will play in the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game at 4 p.m. ET on Jan. 2 on ESPN2.
