With signing day less than a month away you would think top wide receiver Stefon Diggs (Olney, Md./Our Lady of Good Counsel) would be closing in on making his decision. Diggs, however, says he’s nowhere near ready to make a college choice.

“I don’t have a leader or top five or anything like that,” Diggs said Tuesday night. “I’m wide open, and I’m planning on waiting until after signing day to make my final decision.”

Diggs, ranked the No.10 player in the country by the ESPNU 150, will visit Auburn this weekend but said he’s not sure what his plans will be in the future.

“I’m honestly not sure what I’m going to do after that,” Diggs said. “I just want to go on this Auburn trip, and I’ll decide what I’m going to do after that.”

Thus far, Diggs has only visited Cal and will have three remaining visits after Auburn.

“I haven’t even thought about where I might go after Auburn," Diggs said. "I’ll have to sit down with my mom and talk about it and then decide."

Florida was once thought to be a leader for Diggs, but after the departure of offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, the Gators seem to have fallen. ESPN.com reported on Tuesday that former Boise State offensive coordinator Brent Pease will be named Weis' replacement on Wednesday, news that could sway Diggs.

“I just heard about it,” Diggs said. “I don’t know too much about him yet. I’m going to call my mom and we’ll do some research on him. I’m getting ready to call the Florida coaches right now, too.”

In addition to Florida, Cal and Auburn, Diggs is still interested in USC, Maryland, Notre Dame, Virginia and Ohio State.

Though his decision will come after signing day, Diggs said he has not picked an exact date for his announcement.
