The 2016 recruiting class is now all but in the books, and as we look back on the year that was, many things went exactly as we expected: Kentucky and Duke once again have the top classes in the country, Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum became the latest staples of USA Basketball to pick Duke, Mark Gottfreid got his point guard in Dennis Smith Jr. and Thon Maker isn’t playing college basketball. However, plenty of other things ended up being much different than once projected. What were some of the biggest surprises in the CLass of 2016?
