NBA Rumor Central: George Hill's future with Jazz

On Wednesday, the Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers and Utah Jazz agreed to a deal that will be finalized after the NBA's July moratorium. Indiana's George Hill will end up with the Jazz and some may think he won't be there long-term since the guard can leave as a free agent in 2017 after his contract expires. Well, there is a good chance he will sign a new deal to stay with the Jazz next year.

"This is a good fit for George," agent Bill Neff tells The Salt Lake Tribune. "One, George likes it in Utah. Two, George has a close relationship with Gordon Hayward. Three, [Jazz general manager] Dennis Lindsey was largely responsible for bringing George to San Antonio. George has worked with [Jazz coach] Quin Snyder. This is one of the teams George has always wanted to play for."

With the addition of Hill, Snyder will probably start him at point guard and bring Dante Exum off the bench to begin the 2016-17 season. Exum missed all of 2015-16 recovering from a torn ACL.

The Jazz now have Hill, Exum, Shelvin Mack, Raul Neto and Trey Burke at the point guard position. Teams normally carry only three point guards on the roster, so Lindsey has some work to do in the trade market to thin out that position.
