The Los Angeles Lakers hired Luke Walton away from the Golden State Warriors on May 6 to become their new head coach. With Walton leaving, Warriors' head coach Steve Kerr is looking to add an assistant coach, and the interviews have already begun.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Kerr met with Portland Trail Blazers assistant Nate Tibbetts and Charlotte Hornets assistant Stephen Silas on Monday night to discuss the vacancy on his staff.

Tibbetts has interviewed for the Memphis Grizzlies head coach vacancy, and Silas is still in contention for the Houston Rockets head coaching job. The Blazers have also received permission to speak with Silas should they lose Tibbetts.

Silas does have a connection with the Warriors as he was an assistant with them from 2006 to 2010.
