The Memphis Grizzlies were ravaged by a stomach virus on Wednesday and as a result Tony Allen, Kosta Koufos, Courtney Lee, Jon Leuer and Beno Udrih were not available to play at Toronto. The team needed to bring in some emergency help, so they signed two players. According to the Grizzlies website, those players were guard Kalin Lucas and forward Hassan Whiteside.
