Gordon Hayward could have signed a contract extension in late October but did not receive an offer from the Utah Jazz that would tempt him, like his teammate Derrick Favors, so he decided to join the market in July as a restricted free agent. Hayward's shooting had dipped this season and some may think that might hurt what could be offered to him, but he isn't worried since this was a transition year for the Jazz. Hayward also feels he can still lead a team.
