Report: Gay targets more wins

Rudy Gay is entering his third season with the Sacramento Kings. Gay put up a very good stat line in 2014-15 and he's hoping to do the same in 2015-16, along with winning more games. From Jason Jones of The Sacramento Bee:

"(Kings head coach George) Karl will put a lot of responsibility on Gay. Last year, before Mike Malone was fired and there was a change at general manager, Gay signed a three-year contract extension that begins this season. ... Being overlooked for his play last season didn’t bother Gay. Missing the playoffs did trouble him. Now, Gay wants to show he can live up to the expectations of Karl and the organization regardless of where he is on the floor. 'To be able to go out there and do whatever the coach asks of you, that’s what makes you a good player,' Gay said. 'I want to use my versatility. I want to become a better player. And playing one (point guard) through five, that’s just something I can put on my résumé.'"

The Kings have not played in the postseason since 2005-06 when they were knocked out in the first round by San Antonio. The Kings made a bunch of moves in the summer, including the addition of Rajon Rondo, and they should be a team competing for the eight spot in the Western Conference.
