Report: Wallace advising Morris

Former Detroit Pistons player and coach Rasheed Wallace is friends with fellow Philadelphia native Marcus Morris and he's been advising the newcomer when it comes to acclimating to Michigan after the trade from the Suns in the summer. From Terry Foster of The Detroit News:

"Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Morris are Philadelphia guys to the core. They have that enclosed Philly attitude. They do not let you in their inner circle until invited. It is probably why the two text each other constantly even though Wallace is a former Piston player and assistant coach and Morris is finding his way here as the starting Pistons small forward. Wallace wants to make sure his Philly brother knows as much about the Pistons and Detroit as possible. ... Wallace tells Morris the good spots to visit and eat in the Detroit area. He tells him about the good times with the Pistons, which included six consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference finals and the 2004 NBA championship run. ... The Pistons need that ’Sheed attitude from Morris. He is a tough and emotional guy much like Wallace. And even as you talk to him, Morris eyes you as if to determine friend or foe."

Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy has a high regard for Morris as he should be the starting small forward when the 2015-16 regular season tips off later this month.
