Report: Lowry's offseason weight loss

Kyle Lowry is determined to show he can lead the Toronto Raptors to a deep run in the 2016 playoffs after his poor play in the 2015 playoffs. With that in mind, Lowry showed up for media day on Monday in the best shape of his career. From Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun:

"When Kyle Lowry walked into the gym for media day on Monday, one Raptors beat writer jokingly asked him who he was. Given photographical evidence of the all-star point guard's stunning transformation from a thick, rugged 6-footer, to what head coach Dwane Casey described as 'svelte,' more than one person on Twitter asked why some imposter was allowed to pose for team pictures in a Lowry jersey. Everyone was joking, but Lowry's appearance definitely was eye-catching. He looked as trim and fit as he ever has during his nearly decade-long NBA career. ... Lowry made it clear that he believes there is unfinished business to take care of, since he ended the season playing far below his previous level, a major part of the reason why Toronto was swept out of the playoffs by the Washington Wizards."

Lowry averaged just 12.3 points (shooting 31.6 percent from the floor), 5.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists during the 2015 postseason.
