Report: Expectations for Evan Fournier

Guard/forward Evan Fournier will need to play with more consistency entering his contract year for the Orlando Magic. Fournier had a strong start to the 2014-15 season, but battled injuries at the end of the year. He played in 58 games, averaging 12 points and 2.1 assists per game.

Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel breaks down Fournier’s strengths and weaknesses and what to expect from the French sharpshooter:

“The Magic want to see more from the 6-7 Fournier, whose shooting, handle, driving and toughness make him an appealing all-around player. He’ll likely come off the bench. He could have competition for minutes and a sixth-man role in his contract year from rookie Mario Hezonja. Fournier and Hezonja are similar in style and versatility, both able to play shooting guard and small forward. The idea of them on the floor together is intriguing, perhaps giving Orlando some second-unit firepower.”
