Report: Dinwiddie ready if he's part of rotation

After playing in just 34 games during his rookie season, backup point guard Spencer Dinwiddie will be ready to impress Stan Van Gundy should he start the season in the playing rotation. From Perry A. Farrell of the Detroit Free Press:

"The elephant in the room is how the Pistons are going to move forward with an injured Brandon Jennings, a starting point guard in his own right, recovering from an Achilles tendon injury, on the same roster as Reggie Jackson, who became the highest paid Piston with an $80 million contract. Said Dinwiddie: 'My job is to be ready and be the best player on the floor come training camp. Beyond that everybody is waiting to see what happens with Brandon (Jennings) because when you have two starters and only one can start something has to give. I'm sure Brandon's coming back to be the best player on the floor. I'm sure Reggie feels like he is our franchise guy as of right now before 'Dre sign his max deal, so we'll see what happens."

When all players are healthy, the Pistons PG depth chart currently includes Jackson, Jennings, Dinwiddie and Steve Blake.
