Report: How many wins is Scott Skiles worth?

Other than drafting Croatian wing Mario Hezonja, the Orlando Magic didn't do much to change their team this offseason.

Their biggest acquisition, in fact, may be new head coach Scott Skiles. Skiles has gone 443-433 (.506 winning percentage) as a head coach in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.

That said, how much can Skiles do to help a team that went 25-57 a year ago?

Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel tries to sort it out:

"I'd feel better about Skiles' coaching prowess (and so would Skiles) had the team signed All-Star Paul Millsap. Didn't happen. That said, I'm pretty sure Pope Francis hasn't called Skiles to ask him how he works miracles.
Folks might want to temper any runaway expectations. Impatient faithful and media scream about the past three losing seasons, but newsflash: Skiles needs time to make it work here, too.
I believe the Magic will improve on the low-hanging fruit of 25-57. But how many more victories is the 13-year coaching veteran good for when the talent is virtually the same? Five? 10? 15?"
