Report: Biyombo pumped about being a Raptor

Free agent big man Bismack Biyombo was signed by the Toronto Raptors on July 18 to bring a defensive presence off the bench at either the power forward or center positions. Biyombo is thrilled to have signed with the Raptors. From Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun:

"Masai Ujiri offered Biyombo, who had been let go by the Charlotte Hornets, a two-year contract and he didn’t waste much time in accepting. 'The influence (from his relationship with Ujiri) was already there but I was just excited about working with him and looking for an opportunity to play for coach (Dwane) Casey and obviously the team is a great team and I’m excited to be a part of it,' Biyombo said. 'I know that all the guys work hard and they all have one goal.' Biyombo, a 6-foot-9 centre with 'one of the longest wingspans in the NBA,' according to Ujiri, definitely fits the work hard mold. Ujiri said he has seen Biyombo sneak into the gym early for workouts while they do charity work in Africa and said he will provide the Raptors with energy and a physical presence."

Biyombo's contract will pay him $2.81 million for 2015-16 and he owns a player option worth $2.94 million for 2016-17.
