Report: Injuries won't derail the progress of Exum and Hood

The Utah Jazz had planned to use the Utah Summer League and Las Vegas Summer League to help Dante Exum and Rodney Hood improve their games, but that was scuttled as both players got hurt. The injuries -- Exum (ankle) and Hood (shoulder -- aren't serious, so both should be back in the gym soon. From Jody Genessy of the Deseret News:

"For Hood, that bigger picture includes a player who is 'more aggressive,' who continues to buy into Jazz coach Quin Snyder’s defense-first philosophy, who is a good teammate and who is simply 'a better all-around player.' ... Exum returned to Australia earlier this week to begin training with the Boomers for their participation in the upcoming 2015 FIBA Oceania Championships. ... Exum came into the Jazz’s two-week summer league with the goal of improving his ability to lead the team as a point guard. As far as he’s concerned, the 20-year-old is off to a good start in that regard despite only playing one game. ... That leadership aspect is something Exum and Hood talked about displaying more of together during summer league before their injuries got in the way. Jazz assistant Alex Jensen said it’s still a work in progress."
