Trey Burke to play in NBA Africa game

Utah Jazz guard Trey Burke will take part in the NBA's first-ever exhibition game in Africa next week.

Burke, 22, will be a member of the Team World roster and will play against a roster of NBA players who are first- and second-generation descendants of families from Africa. The game will take place on Aug. 1 in Johannesburg, South Africa and be broadcast live by ESPN.

“I’m honored to be representing the Utah Jazz and Team World in the first-ever NBA game in Africa,” said Burke in a team news release. “I look forward to not only playing in the game, but also being able to give back during the community outreach activities. This is without a doubt an experience that I will truly cherish.”

Burke is entering his third season in the NBA. The 2013 first-rounder has averaged 12.8 points and 5.0 assists per game in his first two years with the Jazz.
