Report: Suns summer star on NBA radar

24-year old point guard Mike James played really well during the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League with the Phoenix Suns. While he is headed back overseas, he surely gained attention from other teams that might help him land an NBA contract in the future. From Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic:

"Participating in his first summer league, James closed with a 32-point game that was the top scoring effort of any player at the 11-day, 24-team event in Las Vegas. Playing basketball comes naturally for James, who has improved at every step from Portland prepster to Eastern Arizona College to Lamar University to three-year European pro. The hard part comes over the next two weeks as he waits to see if his summer league play was enough to convince an NBA team that he is worthy of a deal. Because he is under contract to report to Vitoria in Spain in August, an NBA team likely would have to give him a guaranteed contract to make a buyout worthwhile. James impressed the Suns, but they already have three point guards under contract: starters Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight and veteran backup Ronnie Price, who was signed Friday. ... James’ confidence about belonging in the NBA has been bolstered by his performances. His play improved as the league carried on and he became more comfortable with his role to the point he often directed traffic for Suns offensive sets."
