On May 28, 1986, Boston Celtics Hall of Fame forward Larry Bird won his third consecutive MVP trophy. Bird and the Celtics would go on to beat the Rockets in the Finals that season where he would be named the Finals MVP averaging 24 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.5 assists per game.
