Wednesday's Kings Links: DeMarcus Cousins having fun playing with Team USA

Cousins dominant, 'having a lot of fun' in Team USA exhibitions: Team USA doesn’t need DeMarcus Cousins to score 26 points a night. They don’t need him to handle the ball or launch from three. He’s on the Olympic team for one reason -- to dominate the glass. Everything else is just gravy. Through the first two exhibition games, Cousins posted 13 points and 11 rebounds in just 17 minutes a night. He’s leading Team USA in rebounding by four rebounds per contest and controlling the paint on the defensive end as well. -- CSN California

Gay wants consistency, Kings 'don't have that here, at all': Veteran Rudy Gay had a major down season as his role in the offense was diminished. He was supposed to form an alliance with Rondo, a long time friend, and All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins. But the group never really clicked on the floor and Gay became the odd man out. Plenty of reports have surfaced over the last few months regarding Gay and a possible trade request. The veteran forward is currently in Sacramento at his second annual youth basketball camp and once again confirmed to local media that while he hasn’t made an official trade request, he wouldn’t mind finding a new home this summer. -- CSN California

Cousins should bring home the gold, and a lot more: What will Boogie do for an encore? That is the question. The issue is not whether DeMarcus Cousins will earn a technical for cursing out a referee while pursuing an Olympic gold medal, get benched for refusing to run the floor, earn a suspension for engaging in behavior detrimental to team or country. -- The Sacramento Bee
