Friday's Clippers Links: Reaction to the 2016 NBA draft

Clippers select North Carolina forward Brice Johnson with 25th pick, add French point guard, Maryland center: Prior to the start of the NBA draft on Thursday, Los Angeles Clippers coach and president of basketball operations Doc Rivers hinted there “might” be a scenario in which the team ended up with three picks instead of the two it started the night with. And, it turned out, that scenario came to fruition. The team selected North Carolina power forward Brice Johnson, French point guard David Michineau and Maryland center Diamond Stone, trading back seven spots in the second round to add Michineau and Stone. -- The Orange County Register

Clippers think Brice Johnson might fit into rotation: The NBA draft began to turn topsy-turvy after the top two picks Thursday, leaving the Clippers in good position to find a quality player who might just be able to step in and play right away. That turned out to be the case when Brice Johnson remained available late into the first round, allowing the Clippers to take the power forward from North Carolina with the 25th pick. -- Los Angeles Times

Clippers' DeAndre Jordan to represent USA in Summer Olympics: The longshot came in. DeAndre Jordan is an Olympian. Considered the least likely of the three Clippers who were finalists for Team USA to play in the Olympics, Jordan has earned a spot on the team that will compete in August in Rio de Janeiro, according to a person close to the situation not authorized to discuss it publicly. -- Los Angeles Times
