Monday's Wizards Links: Grunfeld focuses on big picture

Wizards GM Ernie Grunfeld focuses on big picture: Just because the Wizards don't have a draft pick doesn't mean they're sitting on their hands for the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. As of Friday, president Ernie Grunfeld had talked to almost 20 players with his eye on the future. The Wizards put in a request to speak with as many as 30 with the league which arranges the meetings. Some of them, such as Maryland's Robert Carter, played 5-on-5. The elite players, such as Brandon Ingram, Buddy Hield and Jamal Murray, aren't doing any of the athletic testing. -- CSN Mid-Atlantic

Scott Brooks travels to meet up with Marcin Gortat: New Wizards head coach Scott Brooks has a reputation for building strong relationships with his players, a quality that helped land him the job in Washington. And though he's hasn't been with the team a full month yet, he's already living up to that billing. Saturday, center Marcin Gortat shared a photo of himself and Brooks on Instagram. -- CSN Mid-Atlantic
