Fall Out Boy has made it to the College Football Playoff. And they didn't even have to enroll, let alone try to make a roster as walk-ons.

ESPN's coverage of the inaugural four-team playoff will showcase the upcoming single “Centuries” from the critically acclaimed, multiplatinum-selling band, the network announced today. The song, which is the title track from the band's forthcoming album, will be featured during playoff game and studio telecasts, and in on-air promotions throughout the season.

You'll also hear the song during highlight packages and in and out of commercial breaks during the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day bowl game tripleheaders – the “New Year’s Six” – showcasing the playoff semifinals, four additional premier top-level bowls and the first-ever College Football National Championship on January 12.

The song will also be a central part of the regular-season marketing efforts to promote the top college football matchups across ESPN’s networks each week. As seen and heard below, ESPN began using an instrumental version of “Centuries” on August 25 in advance of the opening weekend, as seen here:

"Centuries" is the sixth studio album for Fall Out Boy, which traces its roots to Chicago's hardcore punk scene and cites punk, metal and emo bands alike as influences. The band was widely hailed as setting the bar for emo and pop punk with its 2003 debut "Take This To Your Grave."
