MLB Rumor Central: Diamondbacks will consider extensions for Hudson, Ziegler

USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Diamondbacks are currently fourth in the NL West at 29-39, prompting discussion about the team's potential trade scenarios.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted that Diamondbacks GM Dave Stewart has received inquiries on right-handers Daniel Hudson and Brad Ziegler, both of whom will be free agents at the end of the season, and that Arizona will consider contract extensions for both players before the deadline. Stewart also said that he will need to meet with Diamondbacks ownership before making an official decision on how to proceed with the two relievers.

Ziegler, 36, has a 2.93 ERA and has yet to surrender a home run this season. And 29-year-old Hudson has a 1.73 ERA, but has drawn questions about durability due to his multiple Tommy John surgeries.
