Brewers interested in Craig?

The Boston Red Sox have a surplus of outfielders and would like to find a new home for Allen Craig who posted a dismal .215/.279/.315 slash line for the Cardinals and Red Sox.

A report last week by Jon Morosi had the Red Sox in “active” trade talks with at least one unidentified team. A big issue is the three years and $25.5 million left on Craig’s contract, along with an option for 2018.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe says the Brewers may have interest, but that is no guarantee. “There are so many teams who have mixed feelings on whether Craig will bounce back to be the hitter he was before last season,” Cafardo writes.

Craig can also play first base, but the Brewers filled that void by trading with Toronto for Adam Lind.
