          The end of the 2014 season brings with it the end of the three-year, $22.5 million contract extension that J.J. Hardy signed with the Baltimore Orioles back in 2011. His looming free agency has fueled some rumors that Hardy might end up becoming the heir to Derek Jeter at shortstop with the New York Yankees.
