Rudolph to Mauer on being the father of twin girls: 'We're joining your club'

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, whose wife Jordan is due with twin girls on Oct. 7, took to the mound at Target Field on Monday night to make the big announcement. Flanked by his teammates, including quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, Rudolph threw out the first pitch at the Minnesota Twins' game against the Kansas City Royals, and grabbed a microphone to tell fans the news before he delivered to Joe Mauer.

It's not the only thing Rudolph and Mauer have in common. The 33-year-old Twins first baseman is also the father of twin girls, who will turn three in July. While the two were warming up before the game, Rudolph told Mauer the news by saying, "We're joining your club."

Rudolph's night at Target Field also included a trip to the Twins clubhouse, where he said hello to second baseman Brian Dozier and delivered the news to a handful of Twins players. The tight end and his teammates also got to take some swings in the batting cage before the game. This video captures the highlights of Rudolph's evening at the ballpark.

If Rudolph's wife delivers late, the girls could be born when their father has a chance to rest; the Vikings will begin their bye week on Oct. 10.
