Kyle Rudolph announces twin girls at -- where else? -- Minnesota Twins game

MINNEAPOLIS -- Before he threw out the first pitch at the Minnesota Twins game on Monday night, Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph teased on social media he would have an announcement to share from Target Field.

As it turns out, Rudolph was in the right place to deliver his big news.

Rudolph announced his wife Jordan is pregnant with twins, and will give birth to two girls in October. The couple, who got married in February on the beach in Mexico, will become parents during the middle of the football season.

Rudolph, who threw out the pitch in a jersey with his No. 82 and "It's Twins" on the nameplate, was joined at the game by Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, receivers Charles Johnson, Stefon Diggs and Jarius Wright, as well as Vikings linebacker Audie Cole. The 26-year-old Rudolph, who has spent his entire career in Minnesota, is on the same parenting plan as Twins first baseman Joe Mauer, whose wife Maddie gave birth to twin girls in July 2013.

Rudolph is probably hoping his wife will go into labor sometime during the middle of October; the Vikings have their bye on Oct. 16. That could come at a good time for the new dad to get some much-needed rest.
