Oddsmaker still favors Adrian Peterson returning to Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS -- While we wait for the resolution of the Adrian Peterson saga, some of you might find comfort in the fact that betting on the running back's return to the Minnesota Vikings is still a really bad way to make money.

Online sports book Bovada released odds on Thursday for where Peterson will be for Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season, and the Vikings are still the favorite to have Peterson on their roster. Bovada gives them 5-6 odds of having Peterson, with the Dallas Cowboys in second at 9-4. The Indianapolis Colts have 5-1 odds, the Arizona Cardinals are at 9-1, and the San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are at 10-1.

The Vikings, of course, still have Peterson under contract for 2015, and there's a good chance he could still make more money in Minnesota than anywhere. Those factors certainly make the Vikings the favorite from a betting perspective, even if the relationship between Peterson and the Vikings is still on shaky ground. So if you're feeling confident, go ahead and plunk down that $60 on Peterson being in purple next fall. You can win $50 if you're right.
