Dolphins CB Zack Bowman on roster bubble

The Miami Dolphins have their most talented collection of players since head coach Joe Philbin took over four seasons ago. This means Miami’s front office and coaching staff will have plenty of tough decisions to make this summer.

This week I will take a look at some of the interesting players on the roster bubble. Next is a veteran free-agent pickup in the secondary.

Bubble player: Zack Bowman

Position: Cornerback

Experience: Eighth season

Analysis: Bowman signed with Miami this offseason for a chance to compete for a starting job. A starting cornerback spot opposite Pro Bowler Brent Grimes is open, but there is plenty of competition. The leader in the clubhouse is Jamar Taylor, who started three games at the end of last season and knows the defense well. Bowman, Brice McCain, Will Davis and rookie Bobby McCain are all in a crowded mix. Bowman didn’t stand out in offseason practices open to the media. He must make more of an impact in training camp. It most likely will come down to a numbers game for Bowman with how many cornerbacks the Dolphins decide to keep.

Chances of making 53-man roster: 50 percent
