Dolphins RB Mike Gillislee on roster bubble

The Miami Dolphins, on paper, have their most talented collection of players since head coach Joe Philbin took over four seasons ago. This means Miami’s front office and coaching staff will have plenty of tough decisions to make this summer.

This week I will take a look at some of the interesting players on the roster bubble. Next up is a backup running back for Miami.

Bubble player: Mike Gillislee

Position: Running back

Experience: Three seasons

Analysis: Gillislee, a 2013 fifth-round pick, came to the Dolphins with some promise. But Gillislee has yet to fulfill his potential and could be down to his final chance with Miami in this upcoming training camp. Gillislee joins a crowded group that includes starter Lamar Miller, rookie Jay Ajayi, Damien Williams and LaMichael James. Currently, Gillislee is fifth on the depth chart and has to quickly make up ground in camp or the preseason. Gillislee brings some special-teams value, but that is probably not enough to stick around this year if he can’t help the Dolphins on offense.
